Nestled in the heart of the Bluegrass Region near Versailles, Kentucky, the Woodford Reserve Distillery sits amongst scenic thoroughbred horse farms. Distillation began here in 1790 making it the oldest distillery currently in operation. Distillery buildings feature ancient stone and huge copper pot stills.
The Woodford Reserve stone distillery dates back to 1838 and is on the list of National Historic Landmarks.
Woodford Reserve has been the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby since 1996 and it produces a special limited-edition bottle each year for the horserace.
They are owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation, making them brother’s to Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey.
