One of the most beautiful distillery grounds in Kentucky, visitors travel along Whiskey Creek through the Maker’s Mark Distillery and warehouses. At the end of the tour you’ll sample Maker’s Mark, Maker’s Mark 46 and the new-make white whiskey before it enters the barrel. You also get the opportunity to purchase a bottle and dip it yourself in the Maker’s Mark’s red wax.
T.W. Samuels bought the Maker’s Mark Distillery property in 1954 but didn’t sell a single bottle until four years later in 1958
The classic Maker’s Mark name as well as the red wax seal on the bottle was actually designed by Margie Samuels, T.W. Samuels’ wife.
The Maker’s Mark classic bottles are still each hand-dipped by workers lifting them off a conveyor belt, dipping, and putting them back on to dry
